Cloud Expo Europe Summit – virtual

Half a day of condensed cloud content

The corona crisis forced the Cloud Expo to become virtual and was, of course, a topic at the Summit today. Working and communicating more digital increased the digital and cloud market during the last month. The talk of Dr. Thomas King from DE-CIX clarified how the crisis effected the internet activities and the increase of digital working processes, and how DE-CIX was dealing with the situation to provide stable and scaling internet connections.

Other Talks illuminated the given possibilities of cloud. Michael Plagge from Alibaba Cloud showed, how easy world-wide cloud usage can be and how you can connect with the Asian market. Steve Meier and Thorsten Chytrek from EfficientIP explained how you can improve your secure and automated multi-cloud workloads with automated DDI.

The second part of the Summit was a view into the future. Stefan Schäfer from OVHcloud gave an introduction into the Gaia-X Project and Foundation and in their cloud offering with T-Systems, which will be fully compliant with the Gaia-X guidelines and frameworks. Marius Lohr from Dell explained why hybrid-cloud will be the most chosen cloud usage in the future and how Dell is addopting this approach.

In the end Tobias Deml from Oracle gave insights in the Autonomous Datacenter and talked about, why sensible and controlled handling of data is so important and how you can use cloud offerings in your own datacenter.

I like how conferences are dealing with the crisis and that the Summit could happen virtual, but I´m looking forward to meet in Frankfurt next year!
