Cloud computing provider with its own code stack “Made in Germany” for maximum data security
The hosting and cloud provider Ionos wants to combine its cloud products for companies under the name Ionos cloud: Compute Engine (formerly Enterprise Cloud), Managed Kubernetes, S3 Object Storage and a Private Cloud powered by VMware. Ionos wants to make clear that there are alternatives to the offerings of large US corporations such as Google, Amazon or Microsoft.
The new brand will initially be launched on the German market, with other countries to follow in the coming months. Ionos cloud plans to grow by an average of over 40 percent per year in the coming years.
The United Internet subsidiary 1&1 Ionos, which operates throughout Europe, offers cloud infrastructure, cloud services and hosting services. It was created in 2018 from the merger of 1&1 Internet and the Berlin-based IaaS provider ProfitBricks. According to its own information, Ionos operates ten geo-redundant data centers and over 90,000 servers and has contracts with 8 million customers.
