GitHub CLI Now In Beta

GitHub has come up with the beta of the command-line interface (CLI) to help boost developer productivity. Named the GitHub CLI or ‘gh’ in the command line, it enables developers to make it even more seamless to contribute to projects on GitHub.

Rather than using a graphical integrated development environment (IDE) application, GitHub CLI gives developers the option to type and execute code right from the terminal when contributing to an open source project.

Though in “early development” phase, GitHub CLI brings issues and pull requests and more GitHub concepts to the terminal.

GitHub CLI is now available to install on macOS, Windows, and Linux. The Microsoft-owned code-sharing site promises “there’s more to come”.

“We’re even more excited about the future as we explore what it looks like to build a truly delightful experience with GitHub on the command line,” GitHubadds.
